Chairman’s AGM Statement

At the AGM of Alumasc, the premium building and engineering products company, to be held in London this morning, the Chairman, John McCall, will state:
“It was encouraging that the Group performed better as last year progressed, with both divisions finishing on a positive note. The business review, which was included with the report and accounts, highlighted the solid progress achieved during the year, linked to the introduction of new products, investment in manufacturing facilities and the development of the Group’s markets. The Board expressed its confidence that further progress could be achieved in the following year.I am pleased to report that the new financial year, to 30 June 2007, has begun more positively than the early part of last year, maintaining the progress to which I have just referred. Despite the sustained rise in material costs and delays in some public sector spending on social housing, both divisions are ahead of last year, as a result. We continue actively to seek bolt-on acquisitions for our building products businesses.”
