Appointment of a non-executive Director

Alumasc, the UK-based supplier of premium building and engineering products, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Pilkington to be a non-executive director of the company with effect from 1 March 2009.

John Pilkington, MA (Cantab), aged 59, has spent his career working in the construction industry, most recently at Amey UK plc from 2000 to 2008, latterly as an Executive Director. His earlier appointments were with the Arup Group, the world’s leading engineering consultancy, from 1971 to 1994, latterly as Managing Director of its German business, and at Tarmac plc/Carillion plc from 1994 to 2000, latterly as Development Director of the Carillion Private Finance Unit, where he directed several PFI initiatives. John continues to provide strategic consultancy to both public and private sector organisations.

John McCall, Alumasc’s Chairman, commented: “John’s broad experience of the construction industry and international markets is expected to be of great value to Alumasc in the development of its core sustainable building product activities in the UK and overseas. We look forward to welcoming him to our Board.”

There are no matters to be disclosed in relation to this appointment pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
